Creativity and New Media
I used New Media and fostered my creativity through a virtual reality game called "Second Life." I customized my avatar to be completely different than I was which was an old man. I thought to myself, why not be someone completely opposite from me and pretend to be an old man. Playing in this game definitely felt like I was in another world.
Hey Jason!, I also played Second Life. I made my avatar similar to me . How did you like the game? I thought it was a very interesting implementation of virtual reality. We were able to do whatever we want in the game and it did feel as if we were in another world.
ReplyDeleteI think it's interesting that you chose to create an avatar that is so different from your real-life self. I believe most people try to create a virtual version of themselves then express their creativity through their avatar's clothes or the way they decorate their house. I guess this is just another way that virtual realities allow us to be creative.

ReplyDeleteI like the idea you had of creating a person completely different from yourself. Sometimes I think we create avatars envisioning our future selves or visualize an image of what we want to ideally look like in terms of how we dress and how we look. Playing a virtual reality game gives us the opportunity to do so, immersing ourselves in a completely different world and letting our ideas run freely.
